That was Craig Reucassel , host of ABC's 'War on Waste'. Last year (2019), he was being interviewed in an ABC radio session about the results for the Victorian Design Waste Challenge and what his thoughts were on some of the projects. . He mentioned our project (The Robot Walking School Bus) during the radio session, saying '[we] had put an enormous amount of effort into it.'.

Who are We?

We are a group of like-minded students making a change in our local municipality. We are making this change by developing innovative solutions to the most debated environmental problems in the municipality. The Mill Park Library Maker's Club, in association with the Whittlesea Council, YPRL, Victorian State Government, Inspiring Australia initiative, The University of Melbourne, RMIT University, Deakin University, Yellowfin, Whittlesea Tech School , Melbourne Water and Lalor Secondary College are solving some of the most challenging environmental problems including -

Using GPS trackers to monitor and save kangaroos

Encouraging kids to walk to school by following a robot

Monitoring the water quality in the Plenty River to save various wildlife species

Monitoring how efficiently we are using rainwater
